DENVER – Police are investigating a homicide in the City Park West neighborhood Friday evening.
The Denver Police Department tweeted their officers were still investigating the homicide in the area of E. 22nd Ave. and N. Downing St., more than eight hours after first responding to the scene.
In a news release Friday night, police said they responded to the area around 1 p.m. on reports of a person not breathing. Investigators were able to determine that the death was suspicious. The victim, whose name has not been released, was only identified as a woman.
Investigators said they identified and arrested 49-year-old Erik Maw. He was being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
No other information was immediately available.
