LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A woman crossing West Colfax Avenue at Ingalls Street was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday night.
At about 7:45 p.m., police say a black, mid-to-large-size SUV traveling westbound on West Colfax Avenue struck the female pedestrian and then took off.
Paramedics transported the woman, whose identity has yet to be released, to a local hospital where she later died, according to police.
No other description of the hit-an-run vehicle was immediately available.
Police say there is no crosswalk at that location on Colfax.
