DENVER – A woman was charged Wednesday with vehicular homicide in a wrong-way crash that killed two people and injured three others on the HOV lane of Interstate 25 in late January.
Kimberly Rodriguez Roldan, 24, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and two counts of vehicular assault while DUI, a class 3 and a class 4 felony, respectively.
Roldan, is charged with driving her Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound in a northbound I-25 HOV lane near 58th Avenue on January 27 when she hit a Honda CRV head-on, a spokesperson for the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said in a press release.
Miguel Ramirez-Gutierrez, 47, and his 17-year-old son, Michael Ramirez-Muro, were killed. Two other passengers in that vehicle, Maria Muro-Palacios, 45, and Salma Ramires-Muro, 20, suffered serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
The suspect is free on a $20,000 bond with supervised release and monitored sobriety. She is next due in court on April 6.
