DENVER – Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in the Denver Tech Center on Feb. 19.

Mark Anthony Howard, 34, and Roxanne Rodriguez Hernandez, 24, were arrested for investigation of first-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with the death of 26-year-old Marquis Johnson, according to the Denver Police Department.

Police said both Howard and Hernandez entered an apartment on E. Technology Way before gunfire rang out between the suspects and Johnson, who was killed in the shooting.

Another man was injured in the shooting, police said.

Howard, who suffered a gunshot wound, was driven to a hospital after the shooting and later escaped while the homicide investigation was underway, police said in a news release.

Investigators said both were arrested Friday night.
