DENVER – A teenager has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 65-year-old man whose decomposing body was found in a third-floor apartment in Fort Collins earlier this week.

Dylan Joseph Thompson, 18, of Fort Collins, was arrested by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, a prepared statement from Fort Collins Police Services states.

Detectives working on the case traveled to Ogden, Utah, to arrest the teenager, according to police. The suspect is currently in custody at the Davis County Jail in Farmington.

Police are still investigating the connection between Thompson and William Grabusky.

Denver7 spoke to a neighbor who knew Thompson and watched him grown up from across the street.

"Hearing this news, kind of made me sick to my stomach," said Kay Gayton. "It's just sad to hear this because his parents did everything they could to help him."

Thompson was arrested on charges of first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, aggravated motor vehicle theft and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device.

The Larimer County Coroner hasn’t released a cause of death, and police aren’t saying how they suspect Grabusky was killed.
