AURORA, Colo. – A person is in police custody and police have opened a homicide investigation following a shooting Friday afternoon in Aurora.
The shooting was reported in the area of E. 4th Avenue and N. Sable Boulevard just after 5:30 p.m.
Police said several officers were looking for a suspect at large and neighbors were told to shelter in place.

Investigators shut down North Sable Boulevard between E. Colfax Avenue and E. 13th Avenue as they searched for the suspect.
About 30 minutes later, police tweeted they had taken one person into custody.
No information as to what led to the shooting was released. The victim’s identity was also not released.
The roads have since reopened.
