Suspect made inappropriate remarks to young girls, threatened parent with violence when confronted

BOULDER, Colo. — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who made inappropriate remarks to three young girls and when approached by a concerned parent, threatened sexual violence and to burn down the neighborhood. 

Boulder police said the three girls, ages 9, 10 and 12, were playing at Park East Park, located at 811 Mohawk Drive on Sunday afternoon. Just before 3 p.m., a man approached the girls and said inappropriate comments about their bodies, police said. The girls biked away and told a parent, who approached the man to confront him. 

The man then became aggressive and threatened sexual violence. He said he would burn down the neighborhood, police said. 

The police department has increased patrols in the area and are searching for the man.
