Denver — The suspect in the E. Colfax Avenue homicide from Dec. 22 was found in New Mexico Thursday.
Jose Acevedo, 38, was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday in connection to a Dec. 22 stabbing that left a man dead outside a 7-Eleven on the 1900 block of E. Colfax Ave.
Acevedo is being held in New Mexico for investigation of first-degree murder.
The man who was killed has been identified as Willie Pearson, 33, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. The cause of death was from sharp force injuries, according to documents from the medical examiner.
The homicide was part of a string of violent crime that left four dead on the weekend before Christmas.
