AURORA, Colo. – A suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of an Aurora teenager has been arrested in Georgia.

Aurora Police said Thursday Joseph D. McCaughin, 18, had been arrested in that state more than week after the suspect shot and killed a teenager in the southeast part of the city.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting, but during a news conference on May 6, Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz said that the shooting was not random.

Police said the deadly shooting was the third so far this year in which a juvenile was senselessly killed.

The investigation is ongoing.
