WELD COUNTY, Colo. – A man who was not wearing a seatbelt was killed in a single-rollover crash near the town of Kersey in Weld County early Saturday morning, according to a spokesperson with the Colorado State Patrol.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Road 46 just before 6:40 a.m. when it lost control and went off the north side of the road before going onto the south side, rolling two times in the process, according to CSP Trooper Gary Cutler.

The driver, who was only identified as a 19-year-old man from Kersey, was ejected from the 2001 Blue Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Excessive speed and alcohol are suspected in the rollover crash, Cutler said.
