DENVER — The Mesa County Sheriff's Office arrested a Rifle man who was wanted for a deadly shooting during a quinceañera celebration in Garfield County early Sunday morning.
D’Antiago “Dante” Lazaro Dominguez-Lopez was taken into custody in Mesa County Monday morning, according to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office.
He was wanted for the shooting death of an 18-year-old man during the celebration outside Rifle shortly after midnight Sunday.
Deputies arrived and found the victim still alive, the sheriff’s office said. He was transported to a hospital in Grand Junction where he was later pronounced deceased.
The circumstance that led up to the shooting is not known. No other injuries were reported.
