BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. – The reward for information leading to the person or people responsible for killing two young mountain goats near the summit of Quandary Peak last month has been tripled to $15,000.

The reward had already been increased once in early July to $5,000, but more donations that have come into Colorado Operation Game Thief has allowed authorities to increase the reward, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said Monday.

The two goats were discovered shot dead on July 3 almost three miles up the trail. Officials have been looking to speak with anyone who was hiking the trail that day or in the days prior.

Anyone with information about the poaching can call or email Operation Game Thief at 1-877-265-6648. You can also email game.thief@state.co.us to report any relevant information you may have. You can remain anonymous.
