Police say man sexually assaults female motorist at Boulder gas station

BOULDER, Colo. — A registered sex offender is behind bars after Boulder Police allege he sexually assaulted a woman experiencing car problems early Monday morning.

Police arrested Mark Wray, 47, after the alleged assault inside the victim’s car at a Shell gas station, 2977 Baseline Road in Boulder.

According to police, the woman was heading home when she started to experience car problems, so she pulled into the gas station. 

While she was sitting in her vehicle, Wray allegedly approached saying he would help with her car. The victim stated Wray entered the passenger side door and sexually assaulted her.

When police arrived at the station around 4:45 a.m., they found Wray standing next to the victim’s car. The woman was inside visibly upset, police said. 

Police say Wray has a prior sex assault conviction and is registered as a sex offender in the city of Boulder.
