LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police in Lakewood released a composite sketch Tuesday of a man they say tried to lure an 8-year-old boy into his vehicle using puppies.

The boy was walking from a friend’s house near West Warren Drive and West Warren Avenue on the afternoon of Feb. 27 when he was approached by a man in a white van, according to a release from the Lakewood Police Department.

The boy told police said that the man tried to get him into his van by asking him if he wanted to see some puppies. But the boy was able to get away.

The victim described the white male as being between the ages of 50 to 60 years old and having blond hair, a mustache, green eyes and a neck tattoo depicting an arrow piercing a skull with a bullet going through the skull’s eye. The man also had a pierced ear on the same side of his neck tattoo.

The man was driving a white van with a possible partial plate of “FAS.”

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the man in the composite sketch to call 303-987-7004.
