COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Police are looking for a man who stole a ‘90s Suburban Sunday after he was involved in a deadly crash who they say might be in the Denver area.
Colorado Springs police put out bulletins Sunday evening and Monday morning for 25-year-old Nathaniel Patric Stager, saying that he is believed to have stolen the vehicle after the deadly crash on Powers Blvd. near Highway 24 Sunday.
The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. and involved three vehicles. A man inside one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Colorado Springs police said they determined “early in the investigation” that the crash was intentionally-caused, saying witnesses saw a person grabbing the steering wheel of one of the vehicles and forcing it into oncoming traffic.
Police say Stager fled the scene and stole a white and blue 1990 Chevrolet Suburban with Colorado license plate JGO883.
Stager is described as 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, with close-shaved brown hair and brown eyes.
Police say people should call their local law enforcement agency if they see Stager or the stolen vehicle because Stager should be considered armed and dangerous.
They also ask anyone who saw the crash or who has more information to call 719-444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
