Police look for man who approached middle school student walking home in Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Police in Westminster released a bulletin Tuesday, warning parents to be cautious after a suspicious incident last Thursday.

A female Wayne Carle Middle School student walking home from the bus stop in the area of West 90th Avenue and Cody Circle was approached by a man who attempted to grab her, according to the release. The girl was able to safely get away.

School staff notified a school resource officer about the incident that occurred off-campus the evening of Feb. 14, the release read. The district sent a letter about the incident to parents.

The man was described as being 6-feet tall with a “scrawny” build. He was wearing a black Oakland Raiders hoodie, khaki pants and black and grey high top athletic shoes. The lower portion of his face was also covered.
