LEADVILLE, Colo. — A police officer in Leadville shot a man who became physically confrontational Tuesday morning.

In the early morning hours on Tuesday, a Leadville Police Department officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on the 100 block of W. 6th Street in Leadville, according to the department.

After arriving at the home, resident Dylan Byrne Gregg, 32, physically confronted the officer. The officer used his taser, which did not prevent Gregg from continuing to "threaten the officer by his actions," according to the police department. In response, the officer shot Gregg at least one time.

Gregg was transported to St. Vincent General Hospital in Lake County before he was moved via helicopter to a hospital along the Front Range. His condition was unknown as of 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The officer was not injured.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is investigating this incident.
