AURORA, Colo — Authorities have issued a Medina Alert for a hit-and-run driver who was involved in a crash that left an elderly pedestrian dead in Aurora Wednesday evening.

It happened at 6:19 p.m. at the intersection of East Mountview Boulevard and Elmira Street, according to the alert bulletin.

The driver of a light-colored Toyota Camry struck the pedestrian and fled. The victim, who has not been identified, did not survive.

The 2002-04 Toyota Camry has damage to its front end and windshield. License plate information was not available.

If you have any information about this hit-and-run crash, you are asked to call the Aurora Police Department at (720) 675-8915.

A Medina Alert honors the memory of Jose Medina, a 21-year-old valet driver who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in 2011. A taxi driver witnessed the event, followed the driver and gave police the license plate number, leading to the capture and arrest of the suspect.
