THORNTON, Colo. – Police on Wednesday named the man suspected of shooting and killing another man Tuesday evening at a home in Thornton.

Michael Kourosh Sadeghi, 32, faces investigation on a first-degree murder charge, though Thornton police said Wednesday they hadn’t determined a motive for the shooting.

Police were originally called out to a home in the 4600 block of E. 106th Drive just before 8 p.m. Tuesday on a shots fired call. Officers found a man dead in the backyard and discovered he’d been shot.

Sadeghi was found at his home, police said, though it’s unclear where Sadeghi resided. He is being held at an Adams County jail pending his next court appearance.

The victim has yet to be identified by the county coroner. Police said Tuesday the victim was an adult male.

Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call 720-977-5069.
