LONGMONT, Colo. – Police are investigating another car arson that happened Sunday and which police believe is connected to a string of similar arson cases from last week.

Longmont Police Department spokesman Joel Post says the latest car arsons happened just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot at an apartment building in the 500 block of Atwood Street.

One car burned “extensively,” Post said, and a car parked nearby was also damaged.

The latest suspected arson happened just two blocks from where six other cars were lit on fire last week, along with a trash dumpster.

“We are investigating this arson as being related to the others the previous week,” Post told Denver7.

There have been few details released about a possible suspect. Police last week said that a black man wearing a black sweatshirt with a white patch on it was seen running from two of the scenes, but have not said much else.
