AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora announced Wednesday that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy early Monday morning.

Police said a juvenile male was taken into custody Tuesday evening. The arrest occurred in the 15000 block of East Evans Avenue, police said in a release.

Police have not released the suspect’s name because he is a juvenile. He’s accused of shooting and killing 16-year-old Jeremy Jamall Rudolph in the parking lot of the Sable Technological Center, located in the area of 562 Sable Boulevard in Aurora.

When police arrived, they found Rudolph on the ground of the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He died after being transported to an area hospital.

Colorado Early Colleges said that Rudolph was a student at CEC Aurora but that the shooting took place off-campus. The CEC Aurora campus was closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Police declined to release additional details concerning the events that led up to the shooting.
