One dead, suspect wounded in double shooting in Denver

DENVER — Police in Denver are investigating a double shooting Wednesday night that left one man dead and the male suspect wounded.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 6900 block of East Evans Avenue in southeast Denver.

After the shooting, both men were transported to the hospital where one them was later pronounced dead. The other man, who police said is under investigation for first-degree murder, was treated for gunshot wounds. His condition is unknown.

Authorities have not released any other details, including the events that led to the shooting and the identities of the two men.

The Denver Police Department tweeted that the suspect was being held on murder charges.
