PUEBLO, Colo. — On Friday morning, police in Pueblo located a suspect, who had three arrest warrants, in a car that had been involved in a felony theft on Thursday.

At 3:20 a.m., officers with the Pueblo Police Department were responding to a call with other officers when they saw a vehicle pass by that looked like one that had been involved in a felony theft from Thursday morning, according to Capt. Tom Rummel.

A few officers got into their cruisers and started to search for the suspect vehicle, which they found at a nearby Walgreens. One officer stayed inside the vehicle and two others went inside.

The two that went inside saw a female of unknown age carrying a bag, which she quickly tried to ditch once she saw the officers. Police said the bag contained $180 worth of Walgreens makeup, according to Rummel. The female said she was planning on taking the bag.

The officers also found a man sleeping in a car outside the Walgreens. When they woke him and learned who he was, they found out he had three arrest warrants, Rummel said.

The female had two warrants, but they didn't qualify for booking, so she was cited for theft from a merchant and a curfew violation.

The felony theft from Thanksgiving morning remains under investigation.
