DENVER — A man wanted for the shooting death of a woman in northwest Denver has been arrested.
Elijah Lucero, 19, was taken into custody in Denver Wednesday.
Police accuse Lucero of shooting and killing Briseidy Jimenez-Ortega, 20, on Sept. 7.
According to Denver police, Jimenez-Ortega was shot around 7:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Bryant Street in Denver's Sunnyside neighborhood.
The woman was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
The events that led up to the shooting and a possible motive have not been released.
Lucero is currently being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
