DENVER – The 22-year-old man who pleaded guilty this summer to shooting and killing a man at a Denver McDonald’s last November then fleeing to Nevada was sentenced last Friday to 30 years in prison.
Francisco Gonzalez, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in July after he was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Steve Soledad-Lopez at the McDonalds on W. Alameda Ave. near Federal Blvd.
According to prosecutors, Gonzalez and Soledad-Lopez had gotten into a “brief altercation” and Soledad-Lopez was accused of hitting Gonzalez’s vehicle while driving through the parking lot. Gonzalez then shot Soledad-Lopez and fled. He was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada after he hopped on a bus to California.
He received his 30-year sentence on the murder plea Friday.
