LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Police are looking for any information that may lead them to a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run late Friday night in Lakewood.
At about 10:20 p.m. Friday, Lakewood police responded to the area of W. Colfax Ave. and Carr St. on reports of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Witnesses told police a man was crossing W. Colfax in the crosswalk when he was struck by a car driving east along the avenue.
They told police a white Toyota extended cab pickup truck hit the man and left the scene, driving eastbound.
Agents who were at the scene performed life-saving measures on the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene a short time later. The victim has not been identified.
Police said the suspect vehicle will have front end damage to the passenger side.
