DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A 30-year-old man was sentenced to 304 years in state prison on human trafficking charges, Douglas County officials announced Thursday.
Chauncey Price was convicted in December on 13 counts, including human trafficking for sexual servitude, pandering of a child and forging government security, according to the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
During his trial, three victims testified that Price forced them to have sex with strangers for money, and then pay him, a news release said.
“Chauncey promised to take care of me," one victim wrote in a statement. "At first he paid for my drug habit and food and let me stay for free. But nothing is free. … He threatened to kill my sister if I didn’t work for him – that is when he turned me out. He kept pushing me to sleep with more and more men, up to eight a day."
Price and his co-defendants were also accused of making counterfeit money.
“This is not a normal sentence, but this was not a normal crime," Judge Theresa Slade told Price at his sentencing, according to the news release. "You are not a defendant who deserves a minimum sentence. You were a master at victimizing these women. … There is absolutely nothing this court can do to make these women whole.”
