GEORGETOWN, Colo. — Authorities are investigating a homicide in Clear Creek County after an elderly woman was found shot to death inside her home Saturday.
The victim’s relative, an unidentified male, was arrested in connection to her death on suspicion of murder, according to a release from the Fifth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Deputies from the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office along with agents from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation discovered the victim’s body inside a home about two miles south of Idaho Springs on Colorado Highway 103, the release read.
It’s not clear if the homicide occurred the same day the body was discovered on Saturday.
Officials are withholding the victim’s name pending next of kin notification. The suspect’s name and booking photo have not been released.
