LIMON, Colo. — A correctional officer was seriously assaulted by an inmate with a sharpened weapon at the Limon Correctional Facility Thursday, according to the Colorado Department of Corrections.
The injured officer was treated on scene before paramedics transported the officer to the hospital in unknown condition.
After the attack, the facility was placed on lock down as the incident is under investigation, a DOC release read.
The agency said no further details can be released at this time.
