Juvenile dies after shooting in southeast Denver Wednesday afternoon

DENVER – A juvenile has died following a shooting in southeast Denver, police said in a tweet late Wednesday evening.

The shooting was initially reported just before 5:15 p.m. in the area of E. Mexico Ave. and S. Monaco Parkway.

Police said a male victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, adding they didn’t know what his condition was. By 10:19 p.m., a tweet stated the victim, whom police only identified as a juvenile, had been pronounced deceased.

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, officials said.

Information about a suspect was not immediately available. The identity of the victim was also not immediately released.
