AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police are investigating an attempted child luring in the Mission Viejo neighborhood.
Police said two young girls, ages 10 and 6, were walking home from school around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of South Alicia Parkway and South Memphis Street when they were approached by a black car. Police said the men inside tried to lure children into the vehicle.
“I think that it’s hard to believe this is going to happen to your daughter,” said Justin Kruger, the girls' father.
Kruger said his 10-year-old daughter who was walking home from school with her 6-year-old sister when the unknown men “yelled at them to get in the car.”
“She screamed as loud as she could," he said. "And she was with her little sister who’s 6, and she grabbed her hand and just started running."
They were about a block away from home and made it there safe.
“She reacted perfectly," Kruger said. "So, she saved her life and her little sister’s life by doing the right thing."
The suspects took off in the vehicle. Aurora Police described them as two white men in their 20s. The passenger may have had a blonde or brown mustache.
This is the second incident like this in the last two weeks in Aurora. A little girl fought off an attempted abductor on her walk home near Exposition and Peoria on Oct. 11. That suspect is now behind bars.
