Fugitive Friday: Denver police looking for attempted murderer who cut off ankle monitor

DENVER – Police are looking for a fugitive convicted of attempted murder and assault who cut off his ankle monitor and remains at large.

Francisco Javier Perez, 28, was found guilty on Dec. 1 of four counts of attempted first-degree murder–extreme indifference, one count of first-degree assault – extreme indifference, and three counts of attempted first-degree assault – extreme indifference stemming from a September 2015 incident.

He was also charged in April with second-degree assault causing serious bodily injury and two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

The Denver Police Department says Perez also has a conviction for felony menacing.

Perez at some point cut off his ankle monitor and hasn’t been seen since.

He is described as 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 720-913-7867.
