WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – Two adults and two teenagers were arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of a teenager at Panorama Park in Wheat Ridge that happened back in April.

In a multi-agency operation, the Wheat Ridge Police Department arrested 19-year-old Esteban Lucero, 18-year-old Sincere Trujillo, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl in the shooting death of 17-year-old Nimijah Pimentel on April 13.

The three male suspects are facing first-degree murder charges, criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of crime of violence. The female suspect is facing first-degree murder charges, aggravated robbery and two counts of crime of violence, police said in a news release.

Detectives said police were initially led to believe that the confrontation that ended in Pimentel’s death on April 13 was the result of a meeting to sell a pair of designer pants, but after a lengthy investigation, detectives determined that the meeting was instead arranged for the purposes of what they called “an unlawful transaction."

No other details about the case were immediately released.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department said it received help from West Metro SWAT, Westminster SWAT, Adams County SWAT, Thornton/Northglenn SWAT, the Mountain West Cyber Fraud Task Force, the Greenwood Village Police Department, the Regional Anti-Violence Enforcement Network (RAVEN), and the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for the operation that led to the arrest of these four individuals.
