DENVER (AP) — A former caseworker in Colorado accused of falsifying information in child abuse and neglect complaints has pleaded guilty to two charges.

The Jefferson County district attorney's office says Richelle Schultz pleaded guilty on Tuesday to forgery and attempting to influence a public servant.

Prosecutors say Schultz worked for the Jefferson County Department of Human Services for eight months starting in December of 2015 and investigators found she had entered false information on 12 cases into a database.

Schultz is due to be sentenced on March 5. The district attorney's office says the 53-year-old woman could face up to nine years in prison.

County officials have said they reviewed every case that Schultz was assigned after she left the department and found "no unresolved safety issues."
