Children reported missing in Elbert County found safe

UPDATE (JULY 3): Investigators say the children were found safe in Aurora.


ORIGINAL STORY:

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. – Two children in Elbert County have gone missing and the Sheriff’s Office needs your help to find them.

Jordan and McKayla Jackson, pictured above, were last seen at Evans Park in Elizabeth at around 2 p.m. Friday.

Officials with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said a dark blue Honda, 4-door sedan with tinted windows and dark rims was seen leaving the area of the park at the time the children were last seen. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Highway 86.

CBI officials did not provide additional description of the vehicle. 

McKayla, 9, was described as a 4-foot-10 black female weighing approximately 120 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans.

Jordan, 14, was described as a 5-foot-2 black male weighing approximately 95 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and black high tops.

McKayla has autism and functions at a 5- to 6-year-old level, according to CBI officials.
