EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in connection with a Friday shooting that involved two Teller County deputies.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Friday near the intersection of County Road 94 and Teller County Road 32 northeast of Highway 24, according to a news release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said deputies came along a man who matched the description of a person wanted for felony menacing. He allegedly pointed a handgun at deputies and failed to comply with their commands, the sheriff’s office said.
One deputy shot the man, who was transported to a local hospital with injuries, the sheriff’s office said. The man’s condition remains unknown at this time.
Both deputies were placed on standard administrative leave due to the shooting and both were uninjured.
