LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. – Deputies with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office arrested one suspect in a 7-11 armed robbery but said a second person remains at-large.

The alleged armed robbery at the 7-11 located at 200 North Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins happened Saturday at around 1:31 a.m., deputies said, adding a clerk had been shot during the crime while chasing one of the suspects.

The clerk, only identified as a 23-year-old man from Fort Collins, said he was stocking items in the store when two men entered the store.

Deputies said the clerk told them the men were wearing clothing and masks that covered most of their features at the time of the robbery. They then said one of the suspects grabbed a carton of beer and both suspects fled the store with the clerk giving chase.

“Once in the parking lot the clerk was shot by one of the suspects. The gunshot wound was to the lower extremities and non-life threatening,” deputies said in a news release.

Investigators assigned to the case were able to arrest one of the suspects a day later. That suspect was identified as 16-year-old Christian Lee Burley. Burley is facing several charges, including aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Burley is being held at the Platte Valley Youth Services Center in Greeley, deputies said in the release.

Investigators are still pursuing leads to identify the suspect.

The suspect was identified as a white or Hispanic man, approximately 17 years old, and measuring about 5-feet 6-inches tall. He weighs somewhere between 120 and 140 pounds, investigators said, and has brown eyes.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black cloth mask over his face, a black hoodie, black Adidas track pants or shorts with white vertical lines on the legs, black and white/silver Nike tennis shoes, and a black backpack with white or silver trim.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the whereabouts of the second suspect is asked to call Investigator Kevin Hobson at (970) 498-5162.
