DENVER — Police in Denver are looking for a pair of shoplifting suspects, one of whom fired a gun outside Nordstrom.

It happened around 7:23 Sunday evening outside the luxury department store at Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

Police say a male shoplifter was being chased by store security when he shot one round about 50 feet outside the store. No one was hit.

"The man firing a shot while running from security is obviously alarming," said DPD spokesman Doug Schepman. "It's reckless behavior and gives us even more reason to ask for the public's help to try to identify the two people so they can be taken into custody."

The man got into dark colored Kia Spectra, driven by a third party, and fled the scene.

The male suspect is described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 18 - 21. He was wearing a black coat, black pants and red shoes. His hair was tied in two buns.

"It's pretty scary," said Kristan Vaughn, while walking toward the Mall with Lisa Williams. "I'm glad nobody was injured, but I guess it's won't stop me from shopping.  Christmas is coming and the show must go on."

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP(7867) or text: DMCS plus your message to 274637.
