DENVER — The Denver Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a person accused of groping at least three people, including a 12-year-old girl.
According to police, the incident happened around 4 p.m. Monday at the shopping complex located at 7777 East Hampden Avenue.
One of the victims, Alexa, is only 12 years old. With permission from her parents, she spoke with Denver7 about the frightening ordeal.
"I was planning with my friend to go to Target because we just wanted to spend more time together and I needed to grab some things," Alexa said.
Moments after she stepped inside the the store's entryway, she felt a man grab her from behind.
"I felt something on my butt," Alexa recalled. "I was in shock, and I was just on the verge of tears."
Alexa's parents say they're working with police to help gather as much evidence as possible.
Officers told Denver7 the suspect has groped at least three people.
"Inside the store, there was a lady crying saying that someone grabbed her, too," Alexa said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could earn up to $2,000.
