CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. — A man faces charges of kidnapping and sexual assault in the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl who was located in Chaffee County this week, authorities said.

Jason Andrew Harter, 34, of Buena Vista, was arrested in the case on Friday on charges of second-degree kidnapping, sexual assault, enticement of a child and child abuse, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office.

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office located and made contact with the missing girl on Monday after someone saw her at the Poncha Springs Visitors Center. Her condition was unknown.

She was reported missing from her home in Moffat on Feb. 16 and was located the next day. The investigation resulted in Harter's arrest but more information about the case has not been released. Harter remained in the Chaffee County jail without bond on Saturday.
