BOULDER, Colo. — Police in Boulder have arrested a former counselor at a local treatment facility for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient.
Police said in early January, detectives with the Boulder Police Department started to investigate incidents involving 48-year-old Jose Alejandro Yepes of Boulder. At the time, Yepes was an employee at Mental Health Partners with the title "milieu counselor” at the Warner House facility, which is located at 2833 Broadway in Boulder, according to police.
Under his responsibilities, Yepes was in contact with community members who were experiencing substance abuse issues.
One female reported that over a one-month period in November, Yepes "initiated contacts that were sexual in nature" with her, police said.
Yepes has been arrested and faces charges of stalking, unlawful sexual contact and indecent exposure.
He was transported to the Boulder County Jail.
Based on details from this case, police say they believe there may be more victims.
