DENVER (AP) — Four people charged in a fatal shooting during a botched marijuana robbery in Denver have been sentenced to lengthy prison sentences.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Joshua Binns was sentenced Friday to 48 years in prison. Binns pleaded guilty in March to second degree murder and a crime of violence.
Prosecutors say Binns arranged to meet 50-year-old Charles Polzin in November 2016 to buy a large amount of marijuana and shot Polzin.
Three other people connected to the robbery also were sentenced Friday.
Seth Binns was sentenced to 32 years in prison and Ryan Arellano was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Both pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in February.
Mackenzie Fay also pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
