ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man dead outside an apartment complex in unincorporated Arapahoe County near Centennial.
Around 5:45 a.m., the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of gunshots in the area around Centennial East Apartments, located at 14406 E. Fremont Ave., according to a PIO with the sheriff’s office.
Authorities did not find anything suspicious in the area and left, the PIO said.
At 7:15 a.m., a person called 911 to report a man lying on the sidewalk in the complex.
When deputies arrived, they found a man who appeared to have died of a gunshot wound. They said they did not see any blood trails, the PIO said.
Just before 3 p.m., the coroner released her report in which she identified the man as 48-year-old Mark Daniel Davis. She said Davis died of multiple gunshot wounds; his death is now being classified as a homicide.
