FBI: Armed man robs Centennial bank after claiming he had a bomb

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying an armed bank robbery suspect.

On Friday around noon, a man armed with a black handgun and US Postal box walked into First Bank at 2323 E. Arapahoe Road in Centennial. The man claimed that a bomb was inside the box.

The man was described as a white middle-aged man, standing about 5’6” to 5’8” with a stocky build. He was wearing a navy or black hooded sweatshirt with a gray sky mask, gray pants and white tennis shoes.

After the robbery, he ran from the scene.

Anybody with information on this crime or the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. These calls remain anonymous and tipsters can earn up to $2,000 for successful tips.
