SIMLA, Colo. – Two men were found shot to death Thursday morning inside an Elbert County home that deputies say was the site of an illegal marijuana grow operation.

Deputies responded to the home in the 30000 block of Highway 24 at around 7:58 a.m. on a report of a suspicious death. The home is located west of the town of Simla.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two deceased males who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe the operation is a contributing factor in the deaths of the two men.

Though the investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff’s Office says that there is no danger to the public. The men were not publicly identified by the sheriff’s office.
