2 arrested following 'extensively investigated' sexual assault case from May in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — On Wednesday, two people were arrested following an extensive investigation into a sexual assault case from May 2020 in El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office began investigating a sexual assault on May 15, 2020 in the eastern part of the county. The person called who reported the crime said the two suspects alluded to additional victims as they assaulted the person.

Detectives with the sheriff's office said with help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, they "extensively investigated" the case.

On Wednesday, members of the Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force arrested the two suspects.

They have been identified as Annette Nissim, 61, and Frank Gonsalves, 62.

They were both booked in the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:

  • Sexual assault - drug/alcohol-induced
  • Unlawful sexual contact
