AURORA, Colo. –  A person is dead following a rollover crash in Aurora early Sunday and speed could be a contributing factor in the crash, according to police.

The crash happened in the area of East Baranmor Parkway and North Quentin Street in northwest Aurora at around 6:14 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the car had been ejected. First responders took the driver to a nearby hospital after resuscitation efforts, but the driver was declared dead at the hospital some time later.

“Speed does appear to be a factor in this accident, but the involvement of other factors is unknown,” said a spokesperson for the police department.

The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification to family.

Police said this is the 30th accident-related fatality in the city in 2018.
