1 dead, 2 persons of interest detained in Douglas County shooting

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead Friday.

It happened at an apartment complex near the intersection of Interstate 25 and C-470. Two people have been detained, and two others are being sought in connection with the homicide investigation.

Deputies responded to 10169 Park Meadows Dr, in unincorporated Douglas County after receiving information that there had been shots fired and possibly one person had been hit.

Upon arrival, deputies located the victim on the ground with injuries. The victim, whose name, age and gender have not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Based on witness information, two people of interest were detained for questioning at Lincoln Blvd and Park Meadows. No formal charges have been decided at this time. Investigators are still looking for a male, and a female believed to be associated with the victim.
