As of April 5, the state department of public health reported the total number of COVID-19 cases at long term care facilities to be 182 with 55 deaths.

Officials said there was a caveat to these numbers: Many of the outbreaks have deaths associated with them, but some of the deaths aren’t associated with outbreaks.

“Right now, we aren’t able to break out the numbers solely from facilities with outbreaks,” a state department of public health official said. “Also, there are other probable cases that have not been reported into the Colorado Electronic Disease Reporting System yet, so this is an underestimate.”
