DENVER -- In an effort to raise awareness and help their industry as the novel coronavirus continues to spread across our state, restaurants proclaimed Tuesday as "Great American Takeout" day.
Here at Denver7, we thought this would be a great time to tell you about our new effort called "We're Open, Colorado," to help you check out what businesses are open during these trying times.
During these times many restaurants, like Angelo’s Taverna on 6th Avenue, are having to reinvent their business model on a daily basis. That means figuring out ways to sell alcohol to go, limiting their menu and even offering incentives. Angelo’s said they even plan to offer toilet paper down the road to customers as an option to help the community. But primarily, the biggest thing they want to do is let everyone know they're open.
“We ‘re working on our social media, we have signs plastered all across the front of the building, we have guests calling and asking. It’s tough to get your word out. We’ve let people know as many options as we have to let people know that we’re up and we’re gonna take advantage of that,” owner Eric Hyatt said.
